When the Prophet ﷺ stood for the obligatory prayer, he would say the takbir and raise his hands until they were level with his shoulders. When he was about to bow, he did the same. When he raised his head from bowing, he did the same. And when he rose from the two prostrations, he did the same.

كان النبي ﷺ إذا قام إلى الصلاة المكتوبة كبر ورفع يديه حتى يكونا حذو منكبيه وإذا أراد أن يركع فعل مثل ذلك وإذا رفع رأسه من الركوع فعل مثل ذلك وإذا قام من السجدتين فعل مثل ذلك
[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Related by Abu Dawud, Prayer, chapter on the one who mentioned that he raises his hands when he stands up from the two rakahs, no. 744, from the hadith of Sulayman, through him. Tirmidhi, Ibn Khuzayma, Ibn Hibban, Ahmad, and others graded it sahih.
