The Prophet ﷺ visited all his wives one night, and he performed a separate bath after each one of them.Someone asked him, "Messenger of Allah, why not make it a single bath?"He replied, "This is purer, sweeter, and cleaner."
حدثنا إسحق بن منصور أنبأنا عبد الصمد حدثنا حماد حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن أبي رافع عن عمته سلمى
أن النبي ﷺ طاف على نسائه في ليلة وكان يغتسل عند كل واحدة منهن فقيل له يا رسول الله ألا تجعله غسلا واحدا فقال هو أزكى وأطيب وأطهر
[Its chain is hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Purification, in the chapter on wudu for one who wishes to repeat (intercourse), hadith no. 219, from the hadith of Hammad through this route. Salma was deemed trustworthy by Ibn Habban, by Hakim (2/311), and by Dhahabi.
