Someone asked Aisha how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform the ritual bath after major ritual impurity.She replied, "He would pour water over his hands three times, then dip them into the vessel, then wash his head three times, then pour water over his body, then he would stand and pray. As for us women, we wash our heads five times because of our braids."

[Its chain of transmission is daif] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Purification, in the chapter on ghusl from sexual impurity, hadith no. 241, from the hadith of Sadaqah, through him. Both Sadaqah and Jamee are daif, as the majority of scholars have judged them to be weak.
