The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution and wiped over his socks and sandals. Mualla said in his version of the hadith, "I only know him to have said, 'and the sandals.'"
حدثنا محمد بن يحيى حدثنا معلى بن منصور وبشر بن آدم قالا حدثنا عيسى بن يونس عن عيسى بن سنان عن الضحاك بن عبد الرحمن بن عرزب
أن رسول الله ﷺ توضأ ومسح على الجوربين والنعلين قال المعلى في حديثه لا أعلمه إلا قال والنعلين
[Its chain is daif] Bayhaqi related it, 1/284, 285, through the hadith of Muallaa, similarly, and he said, "Dahhak bin Abdul-Rahman's hearing from Abu Musa has not been established, and Isa bin Sinan is daif." Abu Dawud and others have graded this chain daif, and Busiri said, "Its chain is daif," and it has many daif corroborating narrations, including the preceding hadith.
