He saw Saad bin Malik wiping over his leather socks and said, "Do you really do that?"Later they gathered at Umar's place, and Saad said to Umar, "Give my nephew a ruling on wiping over leather socks."Umar said, "When we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, we used to wipe over our leather socks and saw no harm in it."Ibn Umar asked, "Even if one comes from relieving himself?"He answered, "Yes."
Sahih. Bazzar narrated it in Bahr Zakhkhar: 1/248, no. 138, from Imran bin Musa, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih: 1/93, no. 184. Saeed was corroborated by Maamar as found in Ahmad 35/1 and elsewhere, and the hadith has numerous corroborating narrations.
