A guest stayed with Ayesha, and she had a yellow wrap brought out for him. He had a wet dream while wearing it, and feeling embarrassed to send it back with the traces of the dream still on it, he dipped it in water before returning it.When Ayesha saw this, she said, "Why has he ruined our garment? It would have been enough for him to scrape it off with his finger. I often used to scrape it off the garment of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with my finger."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة وعلي بن محمد حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم
نزل بعائشة ضيف فأمرت له بملحفة لها صفراء فاحتلم فيها فاستحيا أن يرسل بها وفيها أثر الاحتلام فغمسها في الماء ثم أرسل بها فقالت عائشة لم أفسد علينا ثوبنا إنما كان يكفيه أن يفركه بإصبعه ربما فركته من ثوب رسول الله ﷺ بإصبعي
[Sahih] Reported by Tirmidhi, in the chapter on ritual purity, the section on semen touching a garment, hadith no. 116, from the hadith of Abu Muawiya through this same chain, and he said, "This hadith is hasan sahih." See also the preceding hadith, for it serves as a corroborating witness for it.
