I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "If you were to rely upon Allah with the reliance He deserves, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds. They go out hungry in the morning and return full in the evening."
حدثنا حرملة بن يحيى حدثنا عبد الله بن وهب أخبرني ابن لهيعة عن ابن هبيرة عن أبي تميم الجيشاني قال سمعت
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول لو أنكم توكلتم على الله حق توكله لرزقكم كما يرزق الطير تغدو خماصا وتروح بطانا
[Hasan] Reported by Tirmidhi in Zuhd, chapter "On Trusting in Allah," Hadith 2344, from the hadith of Ibn Hubayra through the same chain, and he said, hasan sahih. Ibn Hibban also graded it sahih (al-Ihsan), Hadith 56/2, Hadith 728, and Hakim, 4/315.
