The Messenger of Allah ﷺ loved to begin with the right side when purifying himself, when combing his hair, and when putting on his sandals.
حدثنا هناد بن السري حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن أشعث بن أبي الشعثاء ح و حدثنا سفيان بن وكيع حدثنا عمر بن عبيد الطنافسي عن أشعث بن أبي الشعثاء عن أبيه عن مسروق
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يحب التيمن في الطهور إذا تطهر وفي ترجله إذا ترجل وفي انتعاله إذا انتعل
Bukhari narrated it in "Wudu," chapter "Starting with the right side in wudu and ghusl," hadith no. 168, and others, and Muslim in "Purification," chapter "Starting with the right side in purification and other matters," hadith no. 268, from the hadith of Abu Ahwas, from the hadith of Ashath from him.
