The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no prayer for one who has no ablution, and there is no ablution for one who does not mention the name of Allah over it."
[Hasan] Reported by Tirmidhi, chapter on Purification, section on what has been said about mentioning Allah's name at wudu, hadith no. 26, from Hasan bin Ali Khallal, via the same chain. Ibn Ayyad is a liar, but this hadith has another route with Tirmidhi and others. See the preceding hadith, for it is sufficient in place of the hadith of Ibn Ayyad and others like him.
