[Its chain of transmission is very daif]Reported by Ibn Abu Asim in Sunnah, no. 84, from the hadith of Maan or Muaz bin Rifa in this wording, explaining that the great mass refers to truth and its people. Maan has weak hadith (Taqrib), and Abu Khalaf is discarded, Ibn Main also accused him of lying. It has a daif corroborating narration in Abu Naeem's Akhbar Isbahan, 2/208, and the hadith was graded daif by Busiri.
