The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Interpret dreams by their names and their meanings, and a dream takes effect according to the first interpreter."

[Its chain is daif]. Ibn Abu Shayba narrated it, 11/71, no. 10544, from the hadith of Amash at length. See also no. 1080 regarding the status of Raqashi, and there is another defect in it. Abu Dawud narrated it, no. 5020, with the wording, "The dream is upon a bird's leg..." See the previous hadith. It has a corroborating narration in Hakim, 4/391, who graded it sahih, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Its chain is sahih according to the criterion of Bukhari.
