The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked Ibn Masud on the night of the jinn, "Do you have any water with you?"He replied, "No, only some date-infused drink in a leather flask."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A wholesome date and pure water. Pour it over me."Ibn Masud said, "So I poured it over him, and he performed ablution with it."

أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لابن مسعود ليلة الجن معك ماء قال لا إلا نبيذا في سطيحة فقال رسول الله ﷺ تمرة طيبة وماء طهور صب علي قال فصببت عليه فتوضأ به
Its chain of transmission is daif. Daraqutni (11/76) reported it from Ibn Lahia through the same chain, and said, Ibn Lahia was the sole narrator of this, and he is weak in hadith. Busiri said, this chain is daif due to the weakness of Ibn Lahia, meaning that he narrated it after his mixing up occurred. Bazzar also graded the hadith daif.
