I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when my name was not Abdullah bin Salam, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave me the name Abdullah bin Salam.

قدمت على رسول الله ﷺ وليس اسمي عبد الله بن سلام فسماني رسول الله ﷺ عبد الله بن سلام
Its chain is daif. Ahmad narrated it, 5/451, from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba, with the same wording, and Tirmidhi graded it hasan, no. 3256, 3803. The nephew of Abdullah bin Salam is majhul (Taqrib), and no one other than Tirmidhi rated him reliable, so he is mastur.
