The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "They are your brothers whom Allah has placed under your authority. So feed them from what you eat, clothe them from what you wear, and do not burden them with what overwhelms them. If you do burden them, then help them."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا وكيع حدثنا الأعمش عن المعرور بن سويد
قال رسول الله ﷺ إخوانكم جعلهم الله تحت أيديكم فأطعموهم مما تأكلون وألبسوهم مما تلبسون ولا تكلفوهم ما يغلبهم فإن كلفتموهم فأعينوهم
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Manners, the chapter on what is forbidden of cursing and abusing, hadith no. 6050, from the hadith of Amash through this route, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Oaths, the chapter on feeding the slave from what one eats and clothing him from what one wears and not burdening him with what overwhelms him, hadith no. 38/1661, from Ibn Abu Shayba through this route.
