The Prophet ﷺ said, "My ummah was shown to me along with their deeds, both the good and the bad. Among their good deeds, I saw the removal of harmful objects from the road, and among their bad deeds, I saw spittle left in the mosque without being buried."
[Sahih] Ahmad narrated it in 5/178 from Yazid through him, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Masjids, Chapter on the Prohibition of Spitting in the Masjid, no. 553, from the hadith of Wasil from Yahya bin Aqeel from Yahya bin Yamar from Abu Aswad Deeli from Abu Dharr through him, and through this chain the hadith is confirmed sahih.
