The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the wearing of gold rings and the use of red saddle-cloths.
حدثنا أبو بكر حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن أبي إسحق عن هبيرة
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن خاتم الذهب وعن الميثرة يعني الحمراء
Its chain of transmission is hasan. Abu Dawud narrated it in the chapter on clothing, in the section on those who disliked it, no. 4051, from the hadith of Abu Ishaq, and he stated clearly that he had heard it directly. Tirmidhi, no. 2808, said it is hasan sahih.
