The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever drags his lower garment out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection."He said, I met Ibn Umar at al-Balat and mentioned to him the hadith of Abu Saeed from the Prophet ﷺ. Ibn Umar pointed to his ears and said, "My ears heard it and my heart retained it."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن عطية
قال رسول الله ﷺ من جر إزاره من الخيلاء لم ينظر الله إليه يوم القيامة قال فلقيت ابن عمر بالبلاط فذكرت له حديث أبي سعيد عن النبي ﷺ فقال وأشار إلى أذنيه سمعته أذناي ووعاه قلبي
[Sahih]. Ahmad narrated it, 3/39, from the hadith of Firas from Atiya Awfi through him, and Busiri graded it daif because of him, as mentioned before, hadith no. 37, and the preceding hadith serves as a corroborating witness for it. 37.
