The Prophet ﷺ saw a man wearing a brass ring on his hand and asked, "What is this ring?"The man replied, "This is to ward off weakness."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Take it off, for it will only add to your weakness."

Its chain is daif. Ahmad narrated it in 4/445 from the hadith of Mubarak bin Fadala, from Hasan, who said, "Imran bin Husayn informed me," with this wording. Busiri graded it hasan, but it is anomalous, coupled with Ibn Fadala's concealment of his source. Abu Amir Salih bin Rustum narrated it from Hasan with this wording, as found in Ibn Hibban, no. 1411, and in Hakim, 4/216, who graded it sahih, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Its defect is the break in the chain between Hasan and Imran .
