Ibn Majah 3528

[Sahih]. Ibn Abdul-Barr collected it in al-Tamhid (8/132) from the hadith of Ibn Abu Shayba with this chain, and it is found in al-Musannaf (7/402). Bukhari also collected it, no. 5016, as did Muslim, no. 2192/51, and others, from Malik's hadith with this chain in a longer form, and it is found in Muwatta (2/942, 943). Ibn Abdul-Barr said, "Waki narrated it from him and abridged it, for he often used to abridge hadiths." See the hadith that follows.
