Sourcing, its chain of transmission is sahih. Ahmad narrated it, 2/487, from Ibn Ulaya, with it, at length. Mudarib is trustworthy, and Hammam bin Munabbih corroborated him in his Sahifah, no. 131. From his route, Bukhari narrated it, no. 5740, as did Muslim, 2187/41, and others.
