Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Apply ithmid kohl before sleeping, for it brightens the eyesight and makes the lashes grow."

Sourcing. [hasan] It is found in Musannaf Ibn Abu Shayba, 379/7, 411/8. Ismail was corroborated by Muhammad bin Ishaq in Sharh al-Sunnah, 117/12, and by Hisham bin Hasan in Ibn Adi, 1052/3, and by Sallam bin Abu Khayra (also, p. 1151).
