The Prophet ﷺ said, "Take to that which is unpleasant but beneficial, the talbinah," meaning broth.She said, Whenever someone in his household fell ill, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would have the cooking pot kept on the fire until one of two outcomes was reached, meaning either recovery or death.
حدثنا علي بن أبي الخصيب حدثنا وكيع عن أيمن بن نابل عن امرأة من قريش يقال لها كلثم
قال النبي ﷺ عليكم بالبغيض النافع التلبينة يعني الحساء قالت وكان رسول الله ﷺ إذا اشتكى أحد من أهله لم تزل البرمة على النار حتى ينتهي أحد طرفيه يعني يبرأ أو يموت
[Hasan] Ahmad narrated it, 138/6, from Waki, with this wording, from Kulthum, that is Umm Kulthum, whose status is unknown according to Ibn Hajar (in Taqrib), though others deemed her reliable. Aymen heard the hadith from Fatimah bint Abu Layth, Mundhir, as noted in Mustadrak, 407/4, where Hakim graded it sahih according to the standard of Bukhari, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Its chain is hasan. Fatimah and Umm Kulthum were both deemed reliable by Hakim and Dhahabi.
