I came to the Prophet ﷺ while bread and dates were before him. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Come closer and eat."So I began eating from the dates, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "Are you eating dates when you have an eye inflammation?"I replied, "I am chewing from the other side."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled.
حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن عبد الوهاب قال حدثنا موسى بن إسمعيل حدثنا ابن المبارك عن عبد الحميد بن صيفي من ولد صهيب عن أبيه
قدمت على النبي ﷺ وبين يديه خبز وتمر فقال النبي ﷺ ادن فكل فأخذت آكل من التمر فقال النبي ﷺ تأكل تمرا وبك رمد قال فقلت إني أمضغ من ناحية أخرى فتبسم رسول الله ﷺ

[Its chain of transmission is hasan] It was narrated by Bayhaqi: 9/344 from the hadith of Ibn Mubarak, through him, and Busiri said, this is a sahih chain of transmission, and Hakim graded it sahih (3/399, 4/411), as did Dhahabi.
