He used to breathe into the drinking vessel three times, and Anas claimed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to breathe into the drinking vessel three times.
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا ابن مهدي حدثنا عزرة بن ثابت الأنصاري عن ثمامة بن عبد الله
أنه كان يتنفس في الإناء ثلاثا وزعم أنس أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يتنفس في الإناء ثلاثا
Bukhari reported it in the Book of Drinks, Chapter on drinking in two or three breaths, hadith no. 5631, and Muslim in the Book of Drinks, Chapter on the dislike of breathing into the vessel itself and the recommendation of breathing three times outside the vessel, hadith no. 2028, from the hadith of Azra bin Thabit, with the same wording.
