The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a large bowl of food, and he said, "Eat from its sides and leave its top, so that it may be blessed."

أن رسول الله ﷺ أتي بقصعة فقال رسول الله ﷺ كلوا من جوانبها ودعوا ذروتها يبارك فيها
[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Reported by Abu Dawud, Book of Foods, chapter on eating from the top of the dish, no. 3773, from Amr bin Uthman through this route. Hakim graded it sahih in 4/107, and Dhahabi agreed.
