Adi bin Hatim reported,

I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, saying, "We are a people who hunt with these dogs."He said, "When you release your trained dogs and mention the name of Allah over them, eat whatever they catch for you, even if they kill it, unless the dog eats from it. If the dog has eaten, do not eat, for I fear it caught it only for itself. And if other dogs joined yours, do not eat."Ibn Majah said, I heard him, meaning Ali bin al-Mundhir, say, "I have performed fifty-eight pilgrimages, most of them on foot."

عن عدي ابن حاتم قال

سألت رسول الله ﷺ فقلت إنا قوم نصيد بهذه الكلاب قال إذا أرسلت كلابك المعلمة وذكرت اسم الله عليها فكل ما أمسكن عليك إن قتلن إلا أن يأكل الكلب فإن أكل الكلب فلا تأكل فإني أخاف أن يكون إنما أمسك على نفسه وإن خالطها كلاب أخر فلا تأكل قال ابن ماجة سمعته يعني علي بن المنذر يقول حججت ثمانية وخمسين حجة أكثرها راجل
