The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever keeps a dog will have a qirat deducted from his deeds each day, except for a dog kept for farming or for livestock."
حدثنا هشام بن عمار حدثنا الوليد بن مسلم حدثنا الأوزاعي حدثني يحيى بن أبي كثير عن أبي سلمة
قال رسول الله ﷺ من اقتنى كلبا فإنه ينقص من عمله كل يوم قيراط إلا كلب حرث أو ماشية
[Sahih] Narrated by Muslim, Musaqah, chapter on the order to kill dogs and the account of its abrogation, etc., no. 59/1575b, from the hadith of Uzai, through this same chain.
