The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sacrificed a single cow on behalf of the family of Muhammad ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage.
حدثنا أحمد بن عمرو بن السرح المصري أبو طاهر أنبأنا ابن وهب أنبأنا يونس عن ابن شهاب عن عمرة
أن رسول الله ﷺ نحر عن آل محمد ﷺ في حجة الوداع بقرة واحدة
[Sahih] Reported by Abu Dawud, Rites of Pilgrimage, chapter on cattle sacrificial animals, no. 1750, from Ibn Sarh al-Masri, with this wording. It has a corroborating narration in Nasai's Sunan al-Kubra, no. 4129, and its chain of transmission is hasan.
