We were standing with the Prophet ﷺ at Arafat when he said, "People, every household must offer a sacrifice and an atirah each year. Do you know what the atirah is? It is what people call the rajabiyyah."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا معاذ بن معاذ عن ابن عون قال أنبأنا أبو رملة
كنا وقوفا عند النبي ﷺ بعرفة فقال يا أيها الناس إن على كل أهل بيت في كل عام أضحية وعتيرة أتدرون ما العتيرة هي التي يسميها الناس الرجبية
[Its chain is daif] Abu Dawud narrated it in Kitab al-Dahaya, Bab ma jaa fi ijab al-adahi, no. 2788, from the hadith of Abdullah bin Awn, and Tirmidhi graded it hasan, no. 1518, while Abdull-Haq Ishbili, Khattabi, and others graded it daif.Abu Rimlah is of unknown status. Ibn Qattan and others declared him unknown, but the hadith of Nasai, no. 4236, and Abu Dawud, no. 2830, serve as a substitute for it.
