The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sacrificed two rams on the day of Eid. As he turned them toward the qiblah, he said, "I have turned my face toward the One who created the heavens and the earth, devoted in faith, and I am not among those who associate partners with Him. Indeed, my prayer, my sacrifice, my life, and my death are for Allah, Lord of the worlds, who has no partner. With this I have been commanded, and I am the first of those who submit. O Allah, this is from You and for You, on behalf of Muhammad and his community."
حدثنا هشام بن عمار حدثنا إسمعيل بن عياش حدثنا محمد بن إسحق عن يزيد بن أبي حبيب عن أبي عياش الزرقي
ضحى رسول الله ﷺ يوم عيد بكبشين فقال حين وجههما إني وجهت وجهي للذي فطر السموات والأرض حنيفا وما أنا من المشركين إن صلاتي ونسكي ومحياي ومماتي لله رب العالمين لا شريك له وبذلك أمرت وأنا أول المسلمين اللهم منك ولك عن محمد وأمته
[Hasan] Reported by Abu Dawud, Book of Sacrifices, Chapter on What Is Recommended Regarding Sacrifices, no. 2795, from the hadith of Ibn Ishaq with this same wording, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 2899.Ibn Ishaq explicitly stated that he heard it directly. Yazid heard it from Khalid bin Abu Imran, from Abu Ayyash Zurqi, and Zurqi is hasan al-hadith according to the more correct view.
