The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to sacrifice two horned rams of mixed black and white color. He would mention the name of Allah and say the takbir. I saw him slaughter them with his own hand, placing his foot on their sides.
حدثنا نصر بن علي الجهضمي حدثني أبي ح و حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا محمد بن جعفر قالا حدثنا شعبة سمعت قتادة يحدث
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يضحي بكبشين أملحين أقرنين ويسمي ويكبر ولقد رأيته يذبح بيده واضعا قدمه على صفاحهما
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Sacrifices, chapter "Whoever slaughters the sacrificial animals with his own hand," no. 5558, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Sacrifices, chapter "The recommendation of choosing a fine sacrificial animal, slaughtering it personally without delegating it to someone else, and saying the tasmiyah and the takbir," no. 18/1966, from the hadith of Shubah, through this same chain.
