[Its chain of transmission is daif] Tirmidhi narrated it in the book of Hajj, chapter on buying the sacrificial animal, no. 907, from the hadith of Yahya bin Yaman with this wording, and he said it is gharib. It has two defects.Yahya bin Yaman was truthful and devout, but he made many mistakes, and his memory later declined (Taqrib). He also contradicted the reliable narrators in this hadith, including Thawri, mentioned earlier at no. 162.Bukhari narrated it in his Sahih, no. 1693, from the hadith of Ibn Umar with this wording, as a stopped report (mawquf), and this is the sahih version.
