I used to twist the ropes for the garlands of the Prophet's ﷺ sacrificial animals. He would garland his offering and send it off, then remain at home without avoiding any of the things that a person in the state of ihram avoids.
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on Hajj, on garlanding sheep, hadith no. 1702, from the hadith of Amash through this same chain, and Muslim narrated it in the chapter on Hajj, in the section on the recommendation of sending sacrificial animals to the Sacred Precinct, etc., hadith no. 1321/366, from Ibn Abu Shayba through this same chain.
