The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to send sacrificial animals from Medina. I would twist the garlands for his offerings, yet he would not avoid any of the things that a person in the state of ihram avoids.
حدثنا محمد بن رمح أنبأنا الليث بن سعد عن ابن شهاب عن عروة بن الزبير وعمرة بنت عبد الرحمن أن
كان رسول الله ﷺ يهدي من المدينة فأفتل قلائد هديه ثم لا يجتنب شيئا مما يجتنب المحرم
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Hajj, in the chapter on placing garlands on camels and cattle for sacrifice, no. 1698, through the hadith of Layth, with this same wording. Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Hajj, in the chapter on the recommendation of sending the sacrificial animal to the Haram, and so on, no. 1321/132, from Ibn Rumh, with this same wording.
