The Prophet ﷺ said, "A pilgrim in the state of ihram may kill a snake, a scorpion, an aggressive predatory animal, a biting dog, and the little corrupter, the mouse."Someone asked him, "Why is the mouse called 'the little corrupter'?"He answered, "Because the Messenger of Allah ﷺ once woke up to find one had taken the wick of a lamp to set the house on fire."
Its isnad is daif. Abu Dawud narrated it in Hajj, chapter on what the pilgrim in ihram may kill of animals, no. 1848, from the hadith of Yazid, with this wording. Tirmidhi graded it hasan, no. 838, while Busiri graded it daif because of Yazid bin Abu Ziyad, as mentioned previously, no. 504.
