A man's mount broke his neck while he was in the state of ihram, so the Prophet ﷺ said, "Wash him with water and lote leaves, shroud him in his two garments, and do not cover his face or his head, for he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection reciting the talbiyah."Ali bin Muhammad narrated to us, Waki narrated to us, Shuba narrated to us, from Abu Bishr, from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, the like of it, except that he said, "His mount broke his neck," and he said, "Do not bring perfume near him, for he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection reciting the talbiyah."
حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا وكيع حدثنا سفيان عن عمرو بن دينار عن سعيد بن جبير
أن رجلا أوقصته راحلته وهو محرم فقال النبي ﷺ اغسلوه بماء وسدر وكفنوه في ثوبيه ولا تخمروا وجهه ولا رأسه فإنه يبعث يوم القيامة ملبيا حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا وكيع حدثنا شعبة عن أبي بشر عن سعيد بن جبير عن ابن عباس مثله إلا أنه قال أعقصته راحلته وقال لا تقربوه طيبا فإنه يبعث يوم القيامة ملبيا
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Funerals, chapter "How is the muhrim shrouded?" no. 1268 and no. 1849, from the hadith of Amr bin Dinar with this wording, and Muslim in the Book of Hajj, chapter "What is done with the muhrim if he dies," no. 98/1206, from the hadith of Waki with this wording [and Bukhari, no. 1267, and Muslim, no. 1206/101, from the hadith of Shubah from Abu Bishr with this wording].
