The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent us, the young boys of Banu Abdul-Muttalib, ahead from Muzdalifah on our little donkeys. He began patting our thighs and saying, "My little sons, do not throw the pebbles at the Jamrah until the sun rises."Sufyan added in his version, "And I do not think anyone should throw them until the sun rises."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة وعلي بن محمد قالا حدثنا وكيع حدثنا مسعر وسفيان عن سلمة بن كهيل عن الحسن العرني
قدمنا رسول الله ﷺ أغيلمة بني عبد المطلب على حمرات لنا من جمع فجعل يلطح أفخاذنا ويقول أبيني لا ترموا الجمرة حتى تطلع الشمس زاد سفيان فيه ولا إخال أحدا يرميها حتى تطلع الشمس
Sourcing, its chain of transmission is daif. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Rites, Chapter on Hastening from Jam, no. 1940, from the hadith of Sufyan, transmitted through him.Hasan Arni is trustworthy but transmitted this from Ibn Abbas without a direct link, as stated in Taqrib. The basis of the hadith has many corroborating narrations found in Tahawi's Mushkil Athar (4/382–384) and elsewhere.
