We performed the pilgrimage with Umar bin Khattab. When we were about to depart from Muzdalifa, he said, "The polytheists used to say, 'Shine forth, Thabir, so that we may set out,' and they would not depart until the sun had risen. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ differed from them and departed before sunrise."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن حجاج عن أبي إسحق
حججنا مع عمر بن الخطاب فلما أردنا أن نفيض من المزدلفة قال إن المشركين كانوا يقولون أشرق ثبير كيما نغير وكانوا لا يفيضون حتى تطلع الشمس فخالفهم رسول الله ﷺ فأفاض قبل طلوع الشمس
