The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to enter Mecca from the upper pass, and when he left, he would leave through the lower pass.
حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا عبيد الله بن عمر عن نافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يدخل مكة من الثنية العليا وإذا خرج خرج من الثنية السفلى
[Its chain of transmission is sahih]Ahmad narrated it in 14/2 from Abu Muawiya through him. Bukhari, no. 1576, and Muslim, no. 1257, and others narrated it from the hadith of Yahya Qattan from Ubaydullah bin Umar through him, with the same meaning. Malik followed him in narrating it from Nafi through him, as found in Bukhari and others.
