The Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard a man saying, "Here I am at Your service on behalf of Shubrumah."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Who is Shubrumah?"The man replied, "A relative of mine."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Have you ever performed Hajj before?"He answered, "No."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then make this Hajj for yourself, and afterwards perform Hajj on behalf of Shubrumah."
Its chain is daif. Abu Dawud narrated it in the book of Hajj, chapter on a man performing Hajj on behalf of another, no. 1811, from the hadith of Abda, through the same chain, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 3039, as did Ibn Hibban, no. 962, and Bayhaqi, 4/336. But the chain is flawed due to the use of "an" by Ibn Abu Aruba, as mentioned previously, no. 429, and his teacher Qatada, as mentioned previously, no. 175.
