The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Use the tooth-stick, for the tooth-stick purifies the mouth and pleases the Lord. Jibreel never came to me without instructing me to use the tooth-stick, so much so that I feared it would be made obligatory upon me and my nation. Were it not that I fear it would be too burdensome for my nation, I would have made it obligatory for them. I use the tooth-stick so often that I fear I may wear away the front of my mouth."
