He and Uthman bin Affan came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to speak with him about the share he had allotted from the fifth of Khaybar to the Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib.They said, "You have allotted shares to our brothers, the Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib, but our kinship is the same."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "I consider the Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib to be one and the same."
حدثنا يونس بن عبد الأعلى حدثنا أيوب بن سويد عن يونس بن يزيد عن ابن شهاب عن سعيد بن المسيب أن
أنه جاء هو وعثمان بن عفان إلى رسول الله ﷺ يكلمانه فيما قسم من خمس خيبر لبني هاشم وبني المطلب فقالا قسمت لإخواننا بني هاشم وبني المطلب وقرابتنا واحدة فقال رسول الله ﷺ إنما أرى بني هاشم وبني المطلب شيئا واحدا
