The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade traveling with the Quran into enemy territory, out of fear that it might fall into the enemy's hands.
حدثنا أحمد بن سنان وأبو عمر قالا حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي عن مالك بن أنس عن نافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى أن يسافر بالقرآن إلى أرض العدو مخافة أن يناله العدو
Bukhari narrated it in Jihad, chapter on the dislike of traveling with copies of the Quran to enemy territory, no. 2990, and Muslim in Imarah, chapter on the prohibition of traveling with the Quran to the land of the disbelievers, etc., no. 1869, from the hadith of Malik through him, and it is found in Muwatta (Yahya) 2/446.
