[Sahih] Narrated by Nasai, Horses, Racing, and Archery, chapter on Racing, no. 3619, from the hadith of Muhammad bin Amr, with this wording. Abu Hakam's status is unknown, but he was corroborated by Nafi bin Abu Nafi (Abu Dawud, no. 2574). Tirmidhi graded it hasan, no. 1700, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1638. The hadith has other routes of transmission as well.
