Anas bin Malik reported,

He mentioned the Prophet ﷺ and said, "He was the most handsome of people, the most generous of people, and the most courageous of people. The people of Medina were once startled by a noise during the night and rushed toward its source. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ met them on his way back, having already gone ahead to investigate the sound. He was riding a horse belonging to Abu Talha, bareback with no saddle, and a sword hung from his neck. He was saying, 'People, do not be afraid, do not be afraid,' calming them down. Then he said about the horse, 'We found him to be like the sea,' or, 'Indeed, he is like the sea.'"Hammad said, Thabit or someone else told me, saying, "It was a slow horse belonging to Abu Talha, but after that day it was never outrun."
