The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever is killed by accident, his blood-money in camels is thirty bint makhad, thirty bint laboon, thirty hiqqah, and ten bani laboon."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to set its value upon the people of the villages at four hundred Dinar or its equivalent in silver. He would also set its value according to the price of camels at the time. When camels were expensive, he raised the price, and when they were cheap, he lowered it, depending on the period. During the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, its value ranged between four hundred Dinar and eight hundred Dinar, or its equivalent in silver, which was eight thousand dirhams. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ also ruled that whoever's blood-money was to be paid in cattle, the people of cattle were to pay two hundred head of cattle, and whoever's blood-money was to be paid in sheep, the people of sheep were to pay two thousand sheep.
