[Its isnad is sahih] Nasai reported it, 7/115, Prohibition of Bloodshed, chapter on one who is killed defending his property, no. 4095, via Sufyan Ibn Uyayna, with this wording. Abu Dawud also reported it, no. 4772, through another route from Talha, with this wording, and its isnad is sahih. Tirmidhi graded it sahih, no. 1418. The hadith has other routes found in Bukhari, no. 2452 and 2480, and elsewhere. See Musnad Humaydi, no. 83, in my edition.
