The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to administer the punishment for drinking wine with sandals and palm branches.
حدثنا نصر بن علي الجهضمي حدثنا يزيد بن زريع حدثنا سعيد ح و حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا وكيع عن هشام الدستوائي جميعا عن قتادة
كان رسول الله ﷺ يضرب في الخمر بالنعال والجريد
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Hudud, Chapter on What Has Been Said Regarding Striking the Wine Drinker, no. 6773, 6776, and Muslim in the Book of Hudud, the previous chapter, no. 1706, from the hadith of Hisham Dastawai, with wordings of similar meaning.
