I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever sells a house or a piece of property and does not put its price into something like it, that money is likely not to be blessed."Muhammad bin Bashshar related to us, saying Ubaydullah bin Abdul-Majeed related to us, saying Ismail bin Ibrahim bin Muhajir related to me, from Abdul-Malik bin Umayr, from Amr bin Hurayth, from his brother Saeed bin Hurayth, from the Prophet ﷺ, the same report.

Sources (a), the chain of transmission is daif. Ahmad narrated it, 4/307, from Waki through the same route, and it has corroborating narrations.Sources (b), the chain of transmission is daif. Ibn Adi narrated it, 1/284, from the hadith of Ubaydullah bin Abdul-Majid, Abu Ali Hanafi, through the same route, and this is the correct version. Ismail bin Ibrahim bin Muhajir is daif (Taqrib), but Abu Hamza Taskari, Muhammad bin Maymun, who is trustworthy and excellent, corroborated him in Sunan al-Kubra of Bayhaqi, 6/34. However, the chain leading to it is daif because of Muhammad bin Musa bin Hatim, and because Abdul-Malik bin Umayr is a mudallis (see no. 2118b), but he stated explicitly that he heard directly, as mentioned in Maarifah wa Tarikh by Yaqub bin Sufyan Farsi, 1/294, regarding the narration of Ismail from him. It also has corroborating narrations.
