The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon on the Day of Sacrifice and said, "Let those present convey this to those who are absent, for many a one to whom it is conveyed will retain it better than the one who heard it directly."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد القطان أملاه علينا حدثنا قرة بن خالد حدثنا محمد بن سيرين عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكرة عن أبيه وعن رجل آخر هو أفضل في نفسي من عبد الرحمن
خطب رسول الله ﷺ يوم النحر فقال ليبلغ الشاهد الغائب فإنه رب مبلغ يبلغه أوعى له من سامع
[Its isnad is sahih, of high standing], and its basis is agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim) with a slight difference, Bukhari, Hajj, chapter on the sermon during the days of Mina, no. 1741, and Muslim, Qasamah, chapter on the severity of the prohibition of bloodshed, etc., no. 1679.
